The Chief Information Officer (CIO) will provide technology vision and leadership in the development and implementation of the company-wide information technology (IT) program.  The CIO will lead the organization in planning and implementing enterprise information systems to support both distributed and centralized business operations and achieve more effective and cost beneficial enterprise-wide IT operations.

Essential Duties        

  • Provides strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation, and coordination of the information and technology systems for the organization.  
  • Manages IT staff and creates/fosters an organization that can support growth and efficiency goals of the business.
  • Facilitates communication between staff, management, vendors, and other technology resources within the organization. Negotiates solutions, costs, and personnel approaches.
  • Oversees the back office computer operations of the major software systems, including local area networks and wide-area networks. 
  • Responsible for the management of multiple information and communications systems and projects, including voice, data, imaging, and office automation.
  • Oversees and evaluates system security and back up procedures.
  • Responsible for the development and oversight of the company wide IT budget – for both personnel expenses and hardware/software expenses
  • Responsibility for project management and scheduling with an eye towards meeting stated deadlines.
  • As EFI is a dynamic company with often changing client needs and priorities, this person needs to demonstrate flexibility while collaborating with the rest of the Senior Management Team when setting or changing priorities.

Required/Desired Education, Experience and Necessary Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience with increasing responsibilities for management and support of software systems and IT, direct management of a major IT operation is preferred.  Significant experience in an on-line retail and back-office transactional setting is desirable, specifically in technology and information systems planning to support modernization.  Experience should also include exposure to both shared and outsourced solutions.  Specific experience with rebate processing, B2B transactions, and financial management information systems is a plus.

Specific experiences required:

  • Transformation - Experience transforming an organization with outdated software systems to one with modern flexible systems that are well integrated and designed to interoperate with external parties and internal systems.  Must be able to demonstrate this experience
  • Team Building – Experience building a high-function team that will rise to the challenges of a number of systems-replacement projects over a three year period
  • Cost-efficient IT management – Candidate must be able to demonstrate experience managing an IT operation where creativity is utilized to minimize cost and fund/budget for major transformation initiatives over an extended period of time.
  • Maturing the IT approach – Experience implementing disciplined SDLC processes that lead to more predictable delivery of IT capability (cost, schedule, function).

Requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field or equivalent experience.  A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field is highly desirable.
